The purpose of the WMT scheme is to define the criteria for testing on the manufacturer’s premises. These tests are conducted by personnel from the manufacturer’s testing laboratory and are witnessed in their entirety by a CyCert representative who signs off on the test reports.

The WMT scheme evaluates a manufacturer’s laboratory’s capability to conduct pertinent tests for product certification and/or other reasons as requested by the organisation (e.g. approval of products). This assessment considers manufacturers’ laboratory capabilities in terms of personnel, facilities, and equipment necessary to test specific products for which they are responsible for design, development, and production.
